Join Philly Love Notes, the Delaware River Waterfront Corp (DRWC), and Drink Philly at the Summer 2014 #whyilovephilly Party on Thursday, June 26, at the pop-up Spruce Street Harbor Park. This will be the third #whyilovephilly party, a semi-annual event that draws tons of Philadelphians (and even some ex-pats), who come together for a night of Philly-minded celebration.

Unlike parties past, this summer’s event will be a chance for attendees to preview a completely new space being built in Philadelphia at the Delaware River Waterfront. All proceeds from the night will be donated to DRWC, which is the non-profit in charge of programming and development along the Central Delaware Waterfront.

The pop-up Spruce Street Harbor Park (SSHP) will open to the public on Friday, June 27, but on Thursday, party goers will have a chance to see the space in its full glory. Located at Spruce Street and Columbus Blvd, SSHP consists of floating barges with a restaurant, bar, and stage, nets that suspend visitors over the water in the marina, an 50-hammock lounge, urban beach and boardwalk, light show, mist area, and more.

In addition, XPN presents the record release of Ron Gallo's solo album, "Ronny," with sets by The Lawsuits and Up the Chain. A concert on floating barges right on the waterfront. Doesn't really get much better than that.

The purpose of these #whyilovephilly parties is to create the opportunity for Philly-lovers to get together to celebrate the variety of reasons why they have made Philadelphia and the surrounding region their home. So join us and our amazing sponsors for a night out on the river full of friends, food, booze, and music.
